We did a moonlight XC ski last night in some very cold temps. It didn't last too long but it was a beautiful night. The -2 temp was pretty tough and it was only getting colder (-20 this morning). The Gunnison Nordic Council has groomed tracks at Hartman Rocks now which is really nice. Conditions are thin so I'm hoping we get some more snow to make it really solid. It also gets warmer when it snows so that would be nice too!

Better late than never! Now let the snow fly so we can catch up!
I hiked up a hill next to town the other night to catch the lights in the icy mist over town. It was about 5 degrees F which is normal for us this time of year.

I shot this with my K-5 and Rokinon 8mm Fisheye on a tripod for a 10s exposure.

I keep getting good chances to get shots of eagles this year. What does it mean? Probably just a healthy eagle population and I've been carrying my camera a lot. Whatever the meaning I like it.
Here one feeds on a coyote carcass not far from the road outside of Crested Butte, Co.

I went for a nice afternoon ski tour near the continental divide off Monarch Pass yesterday. I was a beautiful afternoon to be out in the snow with just myself, my camera, and my thoughts. Oh, and the skiing was great! :)

It was a chilly ride to work but I made it! This shot is of some nice frost patterns on the glass of the door to The Bean coffee shop next to my office. It was in the mid -30's F. that morning.
